fishing catfish bait

It's a bait or cut bait more effective for catching channel catfish?
My personal experience with cut bait. I do some catch with live bait but the bait has always cut more for me. I also have a lot of other species too. If I'm using cut shad, I have tons of heads flat, blues, and also receives drum too. If I'm using cut bream, so I usually catch a correspondent completely within a few hours. Occasionally I a turtle, but only occasionally.
